My Expat Story

From Expat to Immigrant and Everything In Between

I can still remember getting on that plane to Paris, France. It was the end of summer, in the year 2000. I had just said some very emotional goodbyes to my family, and looked ahead with bright, teary eyes as I took off for my new life overseas. It was an overwhelming mixture of sadness, anxiety, and excitement - it felt like life was full of endless possibilities. And it was.

Living abroad has been an experience like no other. Over the past 25 years, I have found fulfilling work and made meaningful connections. I married (and later, divorced) my best friend. I had an exciting career in advertising, and then experienced a less-than-exciting burnout that became the catalyst for my own career transition. I’ve managed the loss of friendships and mourned the loss of family members while living abroad, and all this while facing chronic illness myself.

The one thing I’ve learned through it all? It’s that when going through any sort of change in life, having proper support from people who truly understand your situation can make all the difference.

If you’re living abroad and have somehow found your way to my coaching site, chances are you’re facing a challenge and could use some help navigating your way through it.

If this resonates with you, feel free to reach out and see how I can help you thrive on through it.
